Cherry Blossom Season in Japan: Event Cleanup and Waste Disposal

Filed under: News — admin @ 7:03 PM

Spring in Japan means cherry blossom season. Parks fill with people enjoying hanami parties, and companies often organize outdoor gatherings under the blooming trees.

While these events create memorable moments, they can also generate a large amount of waste.

Temporary setups such as folding tables, tents, chairs, and event materials are commonly used. After the event, organizers may need to dispose of leftover items, damaged equipment, or bulky materials.

In Japan, proper waste sorting is required, and large items cannot be discarded as regular trash. Bulky waste must be scheduled in advance through municipal services. During peak season, collection slots may be limited.

For companies or event organizers handling multiple items, professional junk removal services can assist with efficient event cleanup and bulky waste disposal.

Cherry blossom season is short — but proper cleanup ensures public spaces remain clean and welcoming for everyone.

March Moving Season in Japan: Furniture and Bulky Waste Disposal

Filed under: News — admin @ 6:55 PM

March is the busiest moving season in Japan. As the fiscal year ends, many companies transfer employees, and students relocate for university. Apartments turn over quickly, and moving companies become fully booked.

During this period, one common problem is furniture and bulky waste disposal.

Before moving out, tenants are usually required to clear all personal belongings. Large items such as beds, mattresses, sofas, washing machines, and shelves cannot be left behind. In Japan, these items must be disposed of properly through bulky waste (sodai gomi) collection.

Municipal bulky waste pickup requires advance booking and a disposal sticker. However, in March, reservations often fill up quickly due to high demand.

If you are moving on a tight schedule or need to remove multiple large items at once, professional junk removal services can provide faster and more flexible support.

Planning furniture disposal early can help reduce stress during Japan’s busiest moving month.

New School Year in Japan: A Good Time to Clear Old Items

Filed under: News — admin @ 6:12 PM

In Japan, the new school year begins in April. This season marks a fresh start for many families. Children enter new grades, start junior high school, or begin university life. With these changes, homes often need to be reorganized.

As students grow, study environments also change. Items that were once necessary may no longer be needed. Common examples include:

・Study desks
・Bookshelves
・Storage shelves

Old textbooks and school materials

Over time, these items can take up valuable space, especially in smaller Japanese homes and apartments.

In Japan, large furniture cannot be disposed of as regular household garbage. Bulky items must be scheduled for municipal pickup, and residents are required to purchase a disposal sticker in advance. During the busy March–April period, reservations may fill up quickly.

If you need to remove multiple large items or want a quicker solution, professional junk removal services can help handle bulky waste safely and efficiently.

The new school year is not only a fresh academic start — it is also a good opportunity to clear old items and create a more comfortable living space.

After the 2026 Winter Olympics: TV Replacement and Junk Removal in Japan

Filed under: News — admin @ 2:26 PM

The 2026 Winter Olympics recently concluded in Italy. As with many global sporting events, some households in Japan upgraded their televisions or audio systems to enjoy the games more fully.

When upgrading electronics, the old equipment often becomes the issue.

In Japan, large items such as televisions, shelves, and cabinets cannot be disposed of with regular household trash. Many cities require residents to arrange a bulky waste (sodai gomi) pickup in advance. This usually involves booking a collection date and purchasing a disposal sticker.

For televisions specifically, recycling regulations may apply depending on the size and type. In some cases, retailers or designated collection points handle appliance recycling.

If replacement purchases were made during the Winter Olympics period, planning disposal early can prevent unnecessary storage problems — especially in smaller apartments.

Understanding Japan’s bulky waste system in advance makes replacing large household items much smoother.

Large Furniture Removal & Disposal for Office Relocation! We carried everything out by hand ー no crane needed!

A company in Shin-Yokohama contacted us:
“We’re moving our office and need to dispose of three large pieces of furniture.

We’ve already asked more than 10 companies and everyone turned us down…”
When we listened further, they explained:

“When we first moved in, the big furniture was lifted in through the window by crane.

But this time, since the goal is just disposal,

we’d prefer to avoid using a crane to keep costs down.”
Cranes actually cost quite a lot.

Depending on the scale, number of items, and floor level,
the typical price range is \100,000~\200,000.

For high floors or special work, it can easily exceed \300,000.

In the Shin-Yokohama area, the estimated cost for crane use only (for these three pieces)
would be approximately \130,000~\230,000 (tax included).

“We just want to dispose of them, but that much money is too expensive…”
We completely understand how they felt.
When we arrived on site, we found:

European antique-style
◆ Mirror-back sideboard

Classic style
◆ Glass-door cabinet

Classic style
◆ Dining table (with glass top)

All of them were very impressive and quite heavy ー clearly not easy to move.

We first protected the floors and walls around the apartment carefully.

Then we disassembled each piece of furniture one by one, separating
the parts to make them lighter.

Especially with the larger items, we took extra care during disassembly.
After about 2~3 hours of work, we successfully removed all the furniture.

The customer looked very relieved and said:

“If we had hired a crane, it would have cost around \300,000.

You did it for less than one-third of that price, and with such careful and detailed work ー
I never expected this level of service.

The disassembly was fast and precise, just like a real carpenter. I was really surprised!”

Situations like this,“It came in by crane, but how do we get it out?”- are actually very common.

However, if we carefully check the structure of the furniture and the exit route,
there are many cases where we can safely remove items without a crane.

If you want to keep costs as low as possible, please feel free to consult us ー including whether
a crane is really necessary or not.

Marking Property Boundaries with Stakes and Rope – Ome City, Tokyo / Yokosuka City, Kanagawa

Filed under: Weeding, pruning — nishida @ 11:56 AM

Did you know that Nishida Service does more than just junk removal?
We also help with property management, gardens, parking spaces, and vacant land!

This time, we installed stakes and rope to clearly mark the boundary of an empty lot.
We choose wooden or metal stakes depending on the soil, so everything is safe and secure.

Without clear boundary markers, unwanted cars or people can easily enter the property — and that’s a headache no one wants 😅
Our team completed the job quickly and carefully, and we’ve received lots of happy feedback!

If you’re looking for ideas to mark or protect your property boundaries,
feel free to reach out to Nishida Service anytime 👍
