This time, we were asked to help with the estate clearance of a deceased individual who had been living alone in an apartment in Atsugi City.
The bereaved family, who reside in Yamagata Prefecture, traveled to Atsugi on short notice upon receiving news of the passing.
Since the family lives far away, they told us:
“It would be difficult for us to travel to Kanagawa multiple times,” and
“We’d like to keep the burden as light as possible during this process.”
In response to these concerns, Nishida Service was entrusted with handling the clearance.

First, we visited the property together with the bereaved family to inspect the room, and provided an on-the-spot estimate.
Afterward, the family returned to Yamagata, where they were able to take their time discussing and considering the matter together with their relatives.
Some days later, once the request was formally confirmed, the family mailed the room key to Nishida Service from Yamagata Prefecture, and we began the work right away.
During the process, to ensure the family could feel at ease even without being present on site, we photographed any valuables or keepsakes as soon as they were found and reported each one to the family promptly.
We carefully searched for the items the family had requested, including:
“Please look for the bankbook and personal seal (inkan),” and
“Please check whether any important documents remain.”
Any valuables that were found were carefully packed and mailed to the family in Yamagata Prefecture.
After the work was completed, the family only needed to be present for a final confirmation. Once they gave their approval, Nishida Service took full responsibility for returning the apartment key to the property owner.
Living far away doesn’t mean you need to visit the site multiple times. Whether it’s:
