We received an inquiry from a care facility in Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama City regarding the disposal of a large number of plant pots.
The facility had an extensive collection of pots — both plastic and ceramic — many of which still contained soil.
The facility’s staff were unable to manage the situation on their own, as moving the heavy pots was physically demanding, and they lacked the time and resources to sort the items by material type and confirm the appropriate disposal method for each.

When attempting to dispose of plant pots through municipal waste collection, ceramic pots must be sorted as non-combustible waste, while plastic pots are classified as recyclable materials — meaning sorting by material type is required. Furthermore, larger pots may not be accepted due to size restrictions. If you choose to transport the items to a disposal facility yourself, fees are charged based on weight, and when you factor in the effort of transportation and the associated labor costs, the process can turn out to be more burdensome than expected.

The more items you have, the more cost-effective the per-unit price becomes, so we are more than happy to take on large-scale requests. At the care facility mentioned above, we completed the removal of all plant pots within a single morning.
The facility’s staff simply needed to be present on-site, while Nishida Service took care of every aspect of the work.
