This time, we received a request from a customer in Kohoku Ward, Yokohama City.
The job involved collecting more than ten used tires — a mix of passenger car tires (without wheels) and complete tire-and-wheel sets.
The tires had been stored in an outdoor parking area. Our staff visited the location and handled everything from removal to loading.
Many people assume that tires can simply be disposed of as oversized waste, but in Yokohama City, tires are not accepted as part of the municipal bulk waste collection service.
Tires are composed of a complex combination of rubber and metal wire, making them difficult to process at municipal waste facilities. For this reason, they have been designated by the Ministry of the Environment as materials that are difficult to dispose of properly.
Please be aware that tires left out for bulk waste collection will simply not be picked up.
