Hello.
This time, a client in Isogo Ward, Yokohama, contacted us about removing a large sofa and collecting unwanted items.
When we spoke with the client, we learned that the sofa had been brought in when they built their new home.
After many years of use, they decided to replace it and bought a new sofa from a furniture store.
They asked a removal company about taking away the old sofa as well, and were told, “No problem, that’s fine.”
Reassured, the client went ahead with preparations to welcome the new sofa.
However, when the removal company actually came and looked at the sofa, the first thing they said was, “We can’t do this one…”
The sofa had certainly been brought into the house when it was purchased.
Yet now that it was time to dispose of it, it could not be taken outside.
On top of that, the new sofa had already been purchased…
“What on earth should I do?”
In that situation, the client contacted Nishida Service.

The conditions under which a large piece of furniture is brought in are not always the same as those under which it is taken out.
Even furniture that could be brought in before a new house was completed may no longer fit through the hallways, doors, or stairs once construction is finished, and it often cannot be removed as it is.
This sofa was also difficult to remove using the usual methods.
After checking the conditions on site, we decided not to force it out as it was, and instead to dismantle the sofa itself before removing it.

First, we cut away the outer covering of the sofa.
Next, we removed the cushioning material inside, and finally cut the wooden frame within, breaking the sofa down to a size that could be carried out.
Even when a large sofa cannot be carried out as it is, it can sometimes be removed by examining its structure and dismantling it appropriately.
In this case as well, we reduced the sofa piece by piece as we worked, and successfully carried it out of the home.
When the work was finished, the client had a delighted smile.
They were happy that they could finally welcome their new sofa.

At Nishida Service, we check the site and think carefully about how each item can be taken out.
Even large furniture that cannot be removed as it is can sometimes be carried out by dismantling or cutting it.
Of course, not every piece of furniture can be dismantled, but there are cases where a little ingenuity in the removal method solves the problem.
How can we remove it from the house safely?
What needs to be dismantled?
What method will solve the client’s problem?
We assess the situation at each site and do our best to find a workable approach.
This time, we were able to remove the sofa without any trouble, and the client could welcome their new sofa.
We want to turn our clients’ “What do we do?” into “Now it’s all taken care of.”
We will continue to give each request careful attention, one by one.
If you are having trouble with removing large furniture or collecting unwanted items, please feel free to contact Nishida Service.
