Today, we’d like to share our estate clearance work carried out in Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City.
The property we cleared this time was a truly magnificent old Japanese house. Both the house and garden were extremely spacious, giving a real sense that the home had been carefully passed down and cherished over many years, a residence full of character.
However, the garden had not been maintained for some time, and the trees and grass had grown quite overgrown.

On the first day, we began by securing a safe working route before starting the main work. After trimming back the overgrown trees and grass as needed to create a safe passage for staff to move in and out, we proceeded with the full estate clearance work.
We carefully checked each room and storage space one by one, sorting items to be kept from those to be disposed of, and carried out the removal work with great care.
The garden also had a storehouse, and inside it, we found numerous retro items that evoked the Showa era. There were everyday goods and tools rarely seen today, and our staff members from the Showa generation found themselves reminiscing, saying to one another how nostalgic it all felt.
On estate clearance sites, we often encounter not only items that hold precious memories for the family, but also pieces that reflect the lifestyle of that era and the history the client’s family has walked through over the years.
This property, too, left a deeply memorable impression, as the building, the storehouse, and each of the items left behind conveyed the family’s history built up over many years.
We were told that the building is scheduled to be rebuilt following this work. However, even a building slated for reconstruction remains a cherished home where a family has lived for many years. With gratitude and respect for a home that had been so carefully cherished for so long, our staff proceeded with the work carefully, taking care to avoid damaging the walls, pillars, and fittings as much as possible.
The customer who observed the work kindly shared these grateful words with us: “I’m glad you took care not to damage the building, even though it’s going to be demolished.”
